~What’s the point~ By Belinda Jane

Do you ever get really excited about an idea, but then never pursued it because you thought it wasn’t good enough? Have you ever given up on finishing something because you were afraid that no-one would like it? Do you ever keep your opinions to yourself because you think nobody cares? Have you ever written a blog, a song, or a tune and thought it a colossal waste of time?

“No one will read it. No one will listen to it. No one will buy it…What’s the point?”

Here’s a challenge:

CHANGE YOUR THINKING

Negative thoughts cloud good judgement. Have you ever heard that? These same thoughts keep us dreaming and not actually doing. Many times, if we start doing, we stop because we have decided that our efforts aren’t good enough and our ideas were stupid to begin with.  But something that is interesting to you, must interest someone else. So why not take a chance? What do you have to lose? Jeremiah 29:11-13 says that God knows the plans He has for you; plans to prosper and give you peace. God expects you to take your ideas seriously and approach them with confidence and diligence. Be bold and see where He takes you.

STOP HATING YOURSELF

Many artists, writers and singers sabotage themselves. They don’t approach their ideas with excellence in mind. They mix creativity with doubt. Well, doubt leads to depression. Depression leads to disappointment. Disappointment leads to anger. Anger leads to nowhere. That’s right! No movement and no momentum. The apostle Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”  Be encouraged. God did not give you ideas or talents for you to dig a hole and hide them. He gave you those blessings to invest and multiply. Believe in these gifts. Believe that the creator has given them to you for a reason. Believe that He will use your gifts for His glory and understand that is all that matters.
