~Excuses~ By Faith

This weekend my eyes were opened concerning an oh-so-uncomfortable word…a word that I personally sometimes only think of in relation to others… 🙈…EXCUSES.

It’s so easy for us to see how others could be living their lives differently, but how often do we acknowledge when we are making excuses?  It is humbling to think of the excuses in our own lives, but also the only way that we can really change the situation, right?

So, how were my eyes opened about the word “excuses?” I realized something-

Excuses are just LIES we are telling ourselves!

Lies? Whew!

What kind of life would you really like to be living? If you could design your life however you wanted, what would that look like?

Are you living it that way?

If not, what lies are you telling yourself, what stories are you making up that are making you decide it’s not possible?

Now, of course there are extreme situations in life that can happen which we have no control over, impacting us greatly. Hopefully after the dust settles we can choose not to let it define us.

For the most part it comes down to our daily choices.

This is so exciting because our lives could look extremely different 3 months, 6 months, 1 year from now, if we developed more empowering habits and made strategic choices with our 16 waking hours in a day!

Joel Osteen once said, “If we all go to the ocean you don’t get a better view than I do standing on the beach. We all have the same view. Our potential in this life is really unlimited. We have the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead inside of us. Let us use that power to live intentionally. To wage war against the lies we have been telling ourselves or hearing from the enemy and take our lives and our futures back!”

What mark do you want to leave on this world?  By letting your light shine you unconsciously give others permission to do the same.

It’s never too late to change the course of your life, and you do it one day, one choice at a time.
